This webinar is offered to Certified Canadian Trademark Administrators on a complimentary basis.
Trademark administration is not limited to traditional trademarks, but many administrators have limited exposure to other types of marks. This session will explore official marks and certification marks, from an administrator’s perspective. Presenters will expand on the IPIC Trademark Administrator Program course content, discussing topics such as the following:
- Review of what official marks and certification marks are and who can own them.
- What makes official marks special?
- What an administrator should know when filing an official mark application.
- How to file an official mark application.
- What is the purpose of a certification mark and what is the defined standard?
- What an administrator should know when filing a certification mark application.
- Notable caselaw.
