Strategies for Communicating with Inventors During Patent Prosecution
Tuesday, September 26, 2023, 1 pm - 2 pm ET
Held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, 1 pm - 2 pm ET
The patent prosecution process generally involves the drafting, filing, and examination of a patent application. Throughout the process, effective communication with applicants and inventors are fundamentally important as it relates to the invention itself as well as to patent prosecution strategies. As organizations and individuals have different levels of sophistication as it relates to the patent prosecution process, different strategies for communication may be required including for smaller or start-up companies. Further, the investment and desired timeline for a specific patent application may be of greater significance to a smaller or start-up company.
This webinar will discuss strategies for communication with inventors and managing smaller and start-up companies during the patent prosecution process, including:
- How to introduce the patent prosecution process to an inventor or smaller and start-up company
- How to conduct interviews and discussions relating to the invention for application drafting and responding to office actions
- How to present different options to an inventor or smaller and start-up company including provisional applications, regular applications, PCT applications, continuations, divisionals, etc.
