Most cases settle, but settlement is easier said than done! This session will talk about best practices for settlement in the copyright, trademark and patent contexts. Seasoned practitioners will explain advanced tips and tricks to help “get a deal done” in a way where all the parties can be confident their interests are protected.
The presenters will address the following practice strategies:
- How to do a deal: settlement from a principled perspective
- Key terms to be included in settlements
- Special considerations for copyright, trademark and patent cases
- How to avoid a fight about whether you have a deal
