THIS EVENT IS FULL

The Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) is inviting you to participate in an upcoming Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Listening Session on Monday, July 25, 2022 from 12:00pm – 1:30pm EST. Please note that when registration opens during the week of July 4, 2022, it will be on a first come, first served basis as space is limited. Be sure to mark your calendars and stay tuned to our weekly IP Newsbreak and our UnscrIPted blog for other EDI developments.

The Listening Session is a key part of IPIC’s EDI initiatives in support of our 2021-2023 Strategic Plan as well as our EDI project funded by Women and Gender Equality titled Building Back Through Innovation & Increasing Diversity in Canada’s IP Sector. The overarching goal of both the Strategic Plan and the project is to promote inclusivity and belonging. This involves hearing from IPIC members as well as recognizing and understanding complex issues regarding race, indigeneity, socioeconomic status, culture, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age ethnicity, ability, spirituality, language, education, and others.

The purpose of the Listening Session is to provide an opportunity to discuss various EDI-related topics. The Listening Session will also offer a safe space for participants to be heard. IPIC is committed to ensuring the experience within the session is respectful, inclusive, and confidential, and it will be facilitated by external EDI experts, who bring in-depth knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the areas of anti-racism and dismantling systemic racism barriers within processes, programs, and structures.
